Assassin's Creed Mirage and the New ExpansionAssassin's Creed Mirage is the thirteenth main entry in the series, released in late 2023, and features young thief Basim Ibn Ishaq as he trains to become a member of the Hidden Ones, the early term associated with the Assassins, and an assassin himself. Both fans and critics reviewed Assassin's Creed Mirage positively, and Ubisoft went on to release two free updates to the game, introducing New Game Plus, a permadeath mode, and various minor improvements to gameplay.
Ubisoft teased the new Valley of Memory DLC on Sunday, showing Basim and the supporting character Dervis walking through a long valley to an open desert with ancient ruins in the distance. Sadly, the tease does not offer many details, but Ubisoft has confirmed a full announcement for tomorrow at 9 AM PT and that the DLC is free.
Details and Fan Anticipation
The Valley of Memory content was funded, in part, by Savvy Games Group, a company owned by the Saudi Arabia Public Investment Fund, which will have no creative control. Reportedly, the Valley of Memory takes place in a geographic location where modern-day Saudi Arabia rests, introducing a new geographic area to the Assassin's Creed narrative.
The announcement comes with the second anniversary of Assassin's Creed Mirage: the game was initially released on October 5, 2023. Additionally, fans who may not have played the game may also get to experience it next week, since it hit Xbox Game Pass in August, which offers new players the game at no cost, and new DLC, if they offer a new episode, but still new and we can tell you that it will offer new content.
Anticipation will meet a cap tomorrow when we get to see the full announcement and check back tomorrow for more details and information, introducing new content and a chapter for Basim.
