Game style and sequel informationAliens: Fireteam Elite is a 3rd-person co-op shooter where 1-2 player teams will play 12 missions set after the original trilogy, and can use AI if needed. The players are cast as Colonial Marines, dispatched to a space station that was taken over by Xenomorphs, to clean up after Weyland-Yutani had been doing research there.
In mid 2024, reports began to appear regarding the sequel, and a recent report cited the sequel with an M rating on the ESRB website, which was quickly taken down. It's also mentioned that it will be available on PC, Xbox Series X, and PlayStation 5, using Daybreak Game Company for publishing. Aliens: Fireteam Elite was self-published by Cold Iron Studios with the help of Focus Home Interactive to distribute it in the EU.

Aliens: Fireteam Elite currently has a Very Positive overall user score on Steam with over 13,000 reviews. Critics outlined "repetitive levels" and no story" and "tedious hallways" as reasons to criticize the game; however, users stated that there are people who "appreciated the tension, class variety, and gameplay".
