Pokémon Scarlet and Violet: Add New Paradox Tera Raids

The players of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet will soon face a new series of high-level challenges as two new Seven-Star Tera Raid battles arrive in the game. From October 2, there will be just over a week's time to obtain exclusive Paradox Pokémon Roaring Moon and Iron Valiant. These two formidable opponents represent the very first Seven-Star Raids in nearly three months, right in time for Thanksgiving fun, promising to be a challenging but rewarding way for dedicated fans to test their skills.

Roaring Moon and Iron Valiant Make Their Entrance
Coincidentally, Roaring Moon and Iron Valiant are the Star Pokémon of the Seven-Star raids, and are therefore version- exclusive Pokémon.

Roaring Moon will be available in Pokémon Scarlet as its Past Paradox form of Salamence and possesses strong physical attack and speed factors. Iron Valiant, meanwhile, will be available as Pokémon Violet's Raid Pokémon and is a hybrid blend of Gallade and Gardevoir, able to attack both physically and specially.

The event begins on October 2 at 8:00 PM Eastern and goes until October 12 at 7:59 PM Eastern on your respective game. Participating players will need to team up to complete the Raid and try to catch their own version-exclusive Paradox Pokémon within the time constraints. As a reward, when you catch it, you'll earn the Mightiest Mark for your Pokémon.

Raid Types and Strategies
Roaring Moon will appear for Raid Battles with Dragon as its Tera type, while Iron Valiant will boast a Fairy Tera type. Both types offer obvious weaknesses; for example, Dragon-type Pokémon are weak to Fairy-type Pokémon and Ice-types, while Fairy- type Pokémon are weak to Steel and Poison.

That said, we might be prudent in questioning whether or not both Pokémon have instructions to resist their weaknesses with counter moves. Roaring Moon could use Iron Head or Earthquake to defend themselves against Ice- and Fairy-types, and Iron Valiant could use their own expansive movepool to strike players in a way they won't see coming.

Coordinating a strategic battle with your fellow trainers might be wise to figure out where the Pokémon left themselves vulnerable.

These Paradox Pokémon are already viable options within competitive battling, so having a chance to Raid them for a limited time makes them even more tantalizing. The Seven-Star difficulty and intensity will make the encounter a test of dexterity.

More Events in October
In addition to Raids with Roaring Moon and Iron Valiant, Five-Star Tera Raids will feature Great Tusk and Iron Treads, both also version-exclusive Pokémon, shortly after last week's event to distribute the much-discussed Shiny Koraidon and Miraidon. It will be a busy month for players of Pokémon Sword and Shield, filled with opportunities for unique captures and challenges.

With Roaring Moon and Iron Valiant poised to perform atop the special Raid events, Pokémon Scarlet and Violet will host attractive opportunities for players to undertake brand-new raid events and combat options.
