Pokémon GO Mega Camerupt Raid Day Announced for September

September is shaping up to be an exciting month for Pokémon GO trainers as a brand new Mega Evolution will be introduced. Mega Camerupt will make its debut at a special Raid Day event on Sunday, September 28, 2025, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. local time. Players can dread battling this popular Mega Camerupt in Mega Raids, and perhaps with a little luck, be on the lookout for its shiny form as well.

Mega Camerupt Coming to Pokémon GO
Mega Camerupt first appeared in Pokémon GO. Check the guide (Pokémon on the GO), having been introduced in Generation 3, as a fully-evolved Pokémon, its evolution, Camerupt, evolves from Numel starting at level 33.

Camerupt is a distinguishable Pokémon from the Hoenn region, as it has two humps on top of its body, which can erupt lava, potentially reaching temperatures of 10,000 degrees Celsius! Its Mega Evolution in Pokémon GO takes those traits to another level, as its two humps combine to form one volcanic crater, the fur of Camerupt's body grows longer, and a gray "M" appears on its forehead amongst the fur.

One cannot deny that Mega Camerupt is one of the most memorable Mega Evolutions from the Hoenn region and will go great in your Mega Pokédex.

This event also symbolizes a further milestone for Pokémon GO, which has introduced mechanics surrounding Mega Evolution since the start of 2020.

New mega Pokémon have been implemented since then, and Mega Camerupt will be a nice addition for Trainers to engage with for their collections. Raid Day Details and Bonuses.

Mega Camerupt's Raid Day is September 28 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. local time. During the event period, players can expect Mega Camerupt raids to be more plentiful and potentially engage in a shiny encounter.

The Raid Day event will increase the number of Remote Raid Passes available when spinning Gym Photo Discs from five to a total of 20, starting September 27 at 5 p.m. PT and running until September 28 at 8 p.m. PT. Players will also receive up to five extra Raid Passes for spinning Gym Photo Discs during the Raid Day event time.

A paid event ticket will be available at $4.99 in the in-game store and will provide additional bonuses to ticket holders during the Mega Camerupt Raid Day. Each paid event ticket will provide ticket holders with a bonus of:
  • Eight extra Raid Passes for spinning Gym Photo Discs (14 total for event),
  • Increased chance to earn Rare Candy XL for in Raid,
  • 50% increase to XP when completing Raid Battles,
  • Double Stardust earned from Raids.

All bonuses and extra Raid Passes earned through the event ticket will only be offered during the Raid Day event time.

If players are looking for even more value, the Pokémon GO Web Store will be offering a Mega Camerupt Raid Day Ultra Ticket Box for $4.99. This Ultra Ticket Box will have the event ticket and a Premium Battle Pass.

XP Celebration Event Continues Until October
Mega Camerupt last appeared in the Pokémon GO video game as part of the XP Celebration event. The XP Celebration event runs through October 14, 2025 - 11:59 p.m. local time. During the XP Celebration event, trainers can enjoy:
  • Double Catch XP from Nice, Great, and Excellent Throws,
  •  +3,000 XP for winning Raid Battles,
  •  +3,000 XP for winning Max Battles,
  • Once per account, Timed Research for trainers above level 5 with a potential of earning over 7 million XP in rewards.

These bonuses stack with other ongoing events, and with Mega Camerupt's Raid Day also occurring during September and the first few weeks of October, trainers are in for a treat during this event season.

The Busy Month of September
September is looking to be one of the busiest months for the ongoing new Pokémon GO season. Besides Mega Camerupt Raid Day occurring, September has other themed events occurring at the same time. The Pokémon Concierge animated series was celebrated in-game with an event that runs until September 14, with promotional Pokémon available in the in-game store for purchase.

Then, just a few days after that, the previously announced Normal-type themed event will introduce Dudunsparce to the Pokémon GO video game and be promoted as a first-time availability in-game.

Between new Pokémon events, time-limited bonuses, and exclusive Raid passes, trainers will not be bored, with Mega Camerupt providing a unique twist to this month's planned events.

In addition, there is a shining opportunity to hunt these shinies on Raid Day! With what looks to be a fun-filled Raid Day of exercises on September 28, these themed events will continue to be a highlight of the September experience.
