Upcoming Highlights for 2026
Xbox Game Pass subscribers still have a few more big day-one titles to go before the year is out. That's after a strong year that has already seen one of the best releases of 2026, the open-world racer Forza Horizon 6. Upcoming first-party additions include Halo: Campaign Evolved in July and Gears of War: E-Day in October, both expected to be major draws for subscribers heading into the latter half of the year.
Bad Magpie is part of the 2027 lineup
One of the quieter announcements from the recent Xbox Games Showcase was the reveal of Bad Magpie, a cozy-style game that will be launching day one on Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass in 2027. Players take on the role of a rogue one-winged magpie in the game, causing havoc and solving puzzles in its world. Its overall aesthetic and tone are similar to titles like A Short Hike and Untitled Goose Game, so it's primed to be a potential indie darling upon release. Being on Game Pass day one should help get the game in front of more people than it otherwise would have. Bad Magpie currently has no release date.
The Fable Reboot's The Biggest Release Of 2027
Arguably, the biggest day one Game Pass title confirmed for 2027 so far is the Fable reboot. Originally, the game was scheduled to release in 2026, but it has been delayed to February 23, 2027. The title is being developed by Playground Games, the studio behind the critically-acclaimed Forza Horizon series, which has raised expectations considerably for what is shaping up to be one of the stand-out releases on the service next year.
Other Confirmed Titles for 2027
A handful of other titles have also been announced for the day-one Xbox Game Pass lineup in 2027. Stranger Than Heaven will be out January 15, while Persona 4 Revival is due out February 18. The newly announced Spyro: A Realm Beyond will also be a day-one Game Pass title and is set to release sometime in spring 2027, although no specific release date has been provided yet.
