Blackwell Field Map UnleashedThe leak, which was posted by a user called Misaka_Mikoto_01, seemingly showed a Season 1 map called Blackwell Field, in Kern County, California, that included oil rigs, a landing strip, rocky hillsides, and a small town. The visuals of the map were beautiful, featuring stunning sunset skies in pink and orange tones.
The video of the leak also offered a small glimpse at another California-based location called Eastwood, which was codenamed Badlands. Both maps highlight a rugged type of environment that aligns with the large-scale combat of the series as a whole.
Leak Origin and Developer Response
The original video of the leak was taken down almost as soon as it was shared, raising speculation about the truth of the leak itself. EA acted quickly to take down the video, suggesting that what was shown in the footage is true. This leaker has already proven track record for leaking early details prior, including sharing the leaked video with footage of the Battlefield 6 battle royale mode.
There have been strict restrictions on playtesters with respect to revealing or leaking details. The amount of leaks has been surprising, though, with most of them all relative to the Battlefield Labs testing program. The developers will have worked hard to keep details behind closed doors; however, in the meantime, the players have thoroughly enjoyed the sneak peek ahead of the release of the game, and it only builds anticipation for it in October.
