LEGO's Book Nook lineup is still fairly new, first launching in June 2025 with three sets designed to fit neatly between books on a shelf. That original lineup included 76450 Book Nook: Hogwarts Express, 10351 Sherlock Holmes: Book Nook, and 10367 The Lord of the Rings: Balrog Book Nook. A fourth entry, 76478 Book Nook: Dumbledore's Office, joined the collection a year later, officially releasing on June 1, 2026.
New Zealand Retailer Accidentally Reveals the Set Early
Just a few months later, evidence of another Book Nook design has surfaced, thanks to a premature product listing published by New Zealand retailer Toyworld in late August 2026. The listing went live briefly on August 31 before being taken down within hours, though not before LEGO fans managed to capture and share the details. The page referenced a LEGO Icons set with product number 11379, officially labeled "Bookstore: Book Nook," though the accompanying box images actually displayed the name "Bookshop Book Nook," creating some confusion over the set's final title. According to the leaked packaging, the set carries an 18+ age rating, includes 1,690 pieces, comes with two minifigures, and was listed at NZ$249.99, roughly $150, before the page disappeared.
Additional images from the since-removed listing offer a detailed look at the set's design. Once opened, 11379 Bookshop reveals a two-story bookstore complete with extensive shelving, upper-floor balconies, multiple reading nooks, a spiral staircase, a small café counter, decorative plants, lamps, and dozens of tiny book details. One promotional image teased subtle nods to well-known literary works, though specific references weren't detailed. The set also includes minifigures representing an author and a reader, giving it a broader, more general bookstore theme compared to the Harry Potter-inspired Dumbledore's Office set released earlier in 2026.
How 11379 Bookshop Compares to Existing Sets
With 1,690 total pieces, the leaked set would top LEGO's current Book Nook range by piece count. Its closest rival, the 10351 Sherlock Holmes: Book Nook, includes 1,359 pieces, roughly 24% fewer than the rumored Bookshop set. That said, a higher piece count doesn't automatically make it the physically largest model. According to Toyworld's cached listing, 11379 measures approximately 20 cm tall and 40 cm wide when fully opened, while the 1,201-piece Balrog Book Nook measures roughly 22 by 44 cm under similar conditions, meaning it may still take up more physical shelf space despite having fewer pieces.
The leaked Bookshop set also marks a shift in direction for the Book Nook subtheme. LEGO's first four releases in the lineup were all tied to recognizable fictional worlds, from Harry Potter to Sherlock Holmes to The Lord of the Rings. In contrast, 11379 appears to feature an entirely original setting, with visible "Brickville Books" signage and shelving filled with generic literary nods rather than references tied to a single licensed franchise. Given that retailers already appear to have received early marketing materials, as shown by Toyworld's brief listing, an official announcement for 11379 Bookshop: Book Nook could be just days or weeks away.
