WWE 2K26 has also introduced meaningful changes to some of the franchise's most beloved game modes since its release. MyRise features a brand-new story, while Universe Mode received a significant update with the introduction of the WWE Draft system. The WrestleMania 42 DLC adds to an already strong content calendar and is scheduled to arrive on August 19 for $9.99.
What the WrestleMania 42 DLC Actually Includes
The DLC brings two new arenas to WWE 2K26, representing the distinct Night 1 and Night 2 designs used during WrestleMania 42, which took place in Las Vegas. On the character side, three new variants have been confirmed: Cody Rhodes, Alexa Bliss, and Liv Morgan. Each variant is tied to specific moments from the event. Cody Rhodes headlined Night 1 in the main event, successfully defending the SmackDown Undisputed WWE Championship against Randy Orton to retain his title. Alexa Bliss competed in a Fatal Four-Way match for the WWE Women's Tag Championship alongside tag team partner Charlotte Flair during Night 1, though the pair fell short against Brie Bella and Paige. Liv Morgan also had a title moment of her own at the event, defeating Stephanie Vaquer to capture the Raw Women's Championship. Her variant in the DLC will also include her new entrance theme, "Trouble," which she debuted on the night.
What Is Coming Next for WWE 2K26
The WrestleMania 42 DLC is part of a broader stream of content keeping WWE 2K26 fresh well beyond its launch. Ringside Pass Season 3 in June 2026 brought one of the more unexpected additions in recent memory, with Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick added as a playable character through the battle pass. Season 4 is set to launch on July 22 and will deliver two major additions: a Trish Stratus variant based on her appearance from her WWE debut in 2000, and the arrival of fan-favourite tag team The Hardy Boyz, with both Jeff and Matt Hardy joining the game's roster for the first time.
Looking further ahead, later seasons have already confirmed additional debuts. Danhausen is set to make his first appearance in the WWE 2K franchise as part of Season 5, while Royce Keys is lined up for Season 6. Each new season continues to expand what is already one of the most populated wrestling game rosters ever assembled, and with WrestleMania 42 DLC, a new Trish Stratus variant, and The Hardy Boyz all arriving within a short window, fans have plenty to look forward to across the rest of the year.
