Exploited Issues Cause Blizzard to Halt TransfersThe Legion Remix event allows players to revisit the well-noted expansion with improved power scaling and earn in-game exclusive achievements. One of the most exciting aspects of the event was that players were given the option to transfer their original Timerunner characters to the main game early on. As of today, the unconquerable transfer button can be seen next to the Legion Remix characters, but has since been removed, stopping players from being able to transfer their characters for now.
The removal of the transfer option followed reports of players having been able to transfer their Infinite Power upgrades to current World of Warcraft content. In one such incident, a player and group were reported to defeat the staggering Dimensius boss from Mythic Manaforge Omega in Patch 11.2 in literal minutes using this unintended advantage.
Future of Legion Remix & Character Transfers
This isn't Blizzard's first issue with the transfer system since the beginning of Legion Remix. Initially, the transfer button was visible, only for the button to end up being non-operational for the length of several weeks. Shortly after the button became active, Blizzard removed it—though they have yet to comment, it is confirmed that the system will likely be off until it is completely resolved.
Once the Legion Remix season concludes, players and characters will automatically be transferred over to the modern servers in the same manner players did with Mists of Pandaria Remix last year. As with last year, players' characters will be required to retain starting gear/bags that match their characters' level, but Infinite Power will need to be removed to ensure game balance and to lessen problems further.
