To kick off the month of April, Pokémon GO has a number of fun events scheduled throughout the month. The first day of April saw the surprise debut of Mimikyu in the wild on April Fools' Day as part of the A Shockingly Good Time event. Following this surprise, the Fashion Raid Day event that took place on April 4 brought players the opportunity to battle and catch over 10 different costumed Pokémon.Continuing the momentum of the first week of the month, Pokémon GO will be running another themed event surrounding steel-type Pokémon, including a previously seen Pokémon from Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.
The Steeled Resolve event highlighted above will run from April 28th to May 4th and will be the first time players will have the opportunity to catch Orthworm in Pokémon GO. Unlike typical debuts, Orthworm will be available for battle through 3-Star raids and will be required to be defeated before being caught afterwards. In a first of many features with this release, players will have the opportunity to catch a shiny version of Orthworm immediately.
The Steeled Resolve event will also feature Meltan and the opportunity to encounter a shiny Meltan using the mystery box. During the event, the time to open an additional mystery box will be reduced. In addition to these benefits, players can expect to encounter Steel-type Pokémon such as Magnemite, Aron, Ferroseed, and Pawniard at an increased rate in the wild.
In Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, Orthworm was known as the Lurking Steel Titan and was a battleable boss-type Pokémon that resembled a giant earthworm. In Pokémon GO, players will have the chance to catch Orthworm through 3-star raids rather than wild encounters. It is not yet confirmed whether Orthworm will continue to be available to players through only this event or if he will become available through normal gameplay.
There is still more to experience and enjoy in April besides the Steeled Resolve event. During the return of Sustainability Week from April 14-20, the ground-type Silicobra will make its debut. Players will also have the chance to take part in the Community Day event for Tinkatink on April 11 and be able to learn the exclusive charged attack Gigaton Hammer.
With many events occurring throughout the month and multiple new Pokémon being introduced, April is shaping up to be one of the best months of Pokémon GO in a long time.
