Pocahontas Will Be Added in Upcoming UpdateThe upcoming update is called Whispers of the Wind and will allow players to meet and befriend Pocahontas for the first time. Pocahontas was previously teased for the game in December 2025, so the release of this trailer confirms her debut.
The update will include an investigation with Moana to find out why mysterious leaves have been appearing throughout the Valley. The player will need to collect memories associated with the leaves; this will eventually lead the player to meet Pocahontas, as well as solve a mystery involving the ocean. Part of the plot for Pocahontas will involve organizing a special event in the Valley in celebration of Pocahontas's arrival.
There will also be a unique house design for Pocahontas, and there will be a Friendship Quest for players to complete to unlock Pocahontas. Completing the Friendship Quest will allow players to receive an outfit based on Pocahontas's signature look, which can be used to customize their avatars.

Along with the addition of Pocahontas, the update will include a new animal companion called Meeko, who is Pocahontas's racoon friend. Players can unlock Meeko by creating special bait and fishing for him within the game.
The update will also bring back mischief-related content and will introduce a storyline that features an unknown individual who is hiding in the shadows of the Valley. This will continue a game style that is akin to previous limited-time gaming events such as the Cheshire Cat Chaos event in May 2025. The player will have to complete tasks and missions within the game to earn rewards; additional information will be released regarding the new event.
Reactions from Fans and Future Directions
While many fans have been waiting for the addition of Pocahontas, there has also been some controversy regarding her addition to the game. The portrayal of Pocahontas in Disney's animated film has drawn criticism from many fans due to the cultural insensitivity of the portrayal of Pocahontas (whose real name was Matoaka) compared to the actual historical figure. Additionally, there is a question as to whether or not other characters such as John Smith will be included in future updates.
Although many fans of Disney have expressed concerns about the addition of Pocahontas to Disney Dreamlight Valley, the addition of Pocahontas was originally outlined in the 2026 roadmap. As a result of adding Pocahontas, Disney Dreamlight Valley is that much closer to having all of the classic Disney princesses in the game.
According to Gameloft, Hercules will be included in the game during the summer of 2026. In the meantime, players will have the opportunity to participate in Easter-themed Eggstravaganza events from April 1, until April 21, during which time players will receive limited-time rewards.
Overall, Disney Dreamlight Valley continues to grow and add new content and new characters via a regular stream of updates, keeping players engaged with ongoing storylines and new characters.
