LEGO Reportedly Plans First UCS Anakin Jedi Interceptor for 2027

Anakin Skywalker's Jedi Interceptor looks set to get the premium treatment fans have waited years for. Word is that LEGO will release the ship as a Ultimate Collector Series (UCS) Star Wars set in August 2027. The yellow starfighter has been rebuilt in bricks many times since 2005, yet it has never made it into the company's top-tier collector range until now.

LEGO Reportedly Plans First UCS Anakin Jedi Interceptor for 2027

What We Know About the New UCS Set
The upcoming model is said to carry product number 75484 and will simply be named Anakin's Jedi Interceptor. It reportedly targets builders aged 18 and over, which is standard for UCS sets since they're designed as a real challenge for grown-up fans. The Eta-2 spacecraft is expected to look far more detailed than anything LEGO has done with it before.

There's more. A second, much smaller version of the ship may also arrive in 2027. Listed as set 75464 and called Anakin Skywalker's Jedi Starfighter, it's said to have just 160 pieces. That one first showed up in a big leak covering LEGO's rumored Star Wars lineup for January 2027. So fans could end up with a budget-friendly option and a display-worthy showpiece in the same year.

A Long History of Anakin's Starfighter in Brick Form
LEGO has already put out eight sets featuring Anakin's Eta-2, built from seven different Interceptor designs. It all began in 2005 with 6966 Jedi Starfighter and 7256 Jedi Starfighter and Vulture Droid. Later that year, 7283 Ultimate Space Battle reused the yellow Interceptor from 7256 inside a much bigger scene.

After that, the ship kept coming back. 9494 Anakin's Jedi Interceptor arrived in 2012, followed by two releases in 2014, namely 30244 Anakin's Jedi Interceptor and 75038 Jedi Interceptor. A polybag, 911952 Jedi Interceptor, appeared in 2019. The most recent full-size version, 75281 Anakin's Jedi Interceptor, landed in 2020.

Not one of these belonged to the UCS line, so 75484 would be a first for the Eta-2. It wouldn't be the first UCS Jedi starfighter overall, though. That title goes to 10215 Obi-Wan's Jedi Starfighter, a 676-piece Delta-7 model released in 2010. Since the Delta-7 and Eta-2 are different ships, the new set would still be the first UCS Eta-2 and the first UCS starfighter tied to Anakin, if the rumor turns out right.

Why August 2027 Makes Sense
The timing feels believable. LEGO's last full-size Anakin Eta-2 set, 75281, also hit shelves in August 2020. On top of that, other insider chatter points to more UCS Star Wars sets next year, including a TIE Advanced prototype starfighter in May and a new Millennium Falcon replica in October.

All this collector focus likely ties back to the fact that 2027 marks the 50th anniversary of Star Wars. Three UCS releases in a single year wouldn't be new either, since LEGO did exactly that in 2025.
