Dead by Daylight 10th Anniversary Reveals Major New Content

Behaviour Interactive welcomed fans and media from across the globe to Montreal, the home of Dead by Daylight's development, to mark ten years since the multiplayer asymmetrical horror game was first released. At a big anniversary livestream, the studio announced a ton of news about both immediate content and the long-term future of the game. One of the biggest reveals was the confirmation of a long-requested new playable Killer joining the roster. New Killers are Coming to the Game. Several new Killers will be added over the next few months.

Jason Voorhees is coming to Dead by Daylight on June 16 in a new chapter, and a Killer called The Judgement will be coming in August as part of the expansion, Chorus of Sin. The biggest surprise of the stream, however, was the confirmation that Art the Clown from the Terrifier film series will be added to the game at some point in November, fulfilling a request many fans have been asking for for a long time. New Survivors and Chapters to Come.

The livestream also introduced a new Indigenous survivor, Shane Wiigwaas, who will be featured in the chapter, The Life Road, releasing June 25. In addition, the community-voted Chorus of Sin expansion will introduce a new survivor, Aurora, and the new original Killer, The Judgement, as the game's 41st chapter launches in August. Also in the works is a spin-off title called The Casting of Frank Stone, which is being developed by Supermassive Games and will receive a chapter adaptation in Dead by Daylight, arriving in early 2027.

Major Visual & Technical Overhaul Coming in 2027 Dead by Daylight will receive a major visual overhaul in 2027, after running on the same core technology for over a decade. The update will include reimagined character models, dynamic weather effects like storms, rain, and snow, fresh voice lines, and more realistic facial animations and movement. Maps will also receive enhanced textures, shading, and lighting, with the Autohaven Wreckers map demonstrated as an early example of these upcoming changes. Update on the Dead by Daylight Movie: The long-in-the-works Dead by Daylight movie also received an update during the stream.

The movie will be directed by Thordur Palsson, who worked on The Damned and The Valhalla Murders, it was confirmed. But the project is still moving forward as part of the franchise's broader expansion outside of games. New cosmetic collections are on the way. Behaviour Interactive also teased a handful of upcoming cosmetic Collections for those who love to collect skins, rounding out the anniversary announcements. More Collections are coming soon and throughout 2027, continuing the steady stream of customisation content the game has provided since its launch a decade ago.
