This news came during the closing ceremony of the 2026 Pokémon World Championships, where it was announced that Armored Mewtwo will be featured in five-star raids as part of Pokémon GO Fest 2026: Mega Finale. The event runs from Saturday, September 5 through Sunday, September 6, giving players a short but exciting window to take on this powerful raid boss.
What To Expect From Armored Mewtwo Those hoping to add a Shiny variation of Armored Mewtwo to their collection will need to lower their expectations as the shiny variant will not be available during this event. "Armored Mewtwo is the Legendary Pokémon as seen in the 2019 film Pokémon: Mewtwo Strikes Back – Evolution, where its full power is inhibited by a suit of armor," said Scopely in a recent blog post. However, that suppression doesn't mean that Armored Mewtwo isn't still very powerful. The developer noted that the Pokémon is still able to easily outclass a number of other Pokémon in terms of raw battle power.
Since the return of this Pokémon is directly tied to the Mega Finale event, players will want to take advantage of this two day window to challenge Armored Mewtwo in raids and add it to their team before it disappears again.
