June Starts Off Strong for Game Pass Subscribers
Already in the first half of June, subscribers have had the chance to try out a diverse range of titles including the laid-back open world survival game Solarpunk, the boxing game Undisputed, the returning RPG Persona 5 Royal, the cooking-themed life sim and deckbuilder Beastro, the co-op platformer Frog Squad, and, most recently, Starseeker: Astroneer Expeditions. Junkster has been added into the fray as June's new releases continue to grow.
What You Get from Junkster
Junkster launched officially on June 16 as a day-one launch title for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC subscribers. The 3D platformer follows UM-13, a small construction robot left stranded on a dangerous junkyard planet following a crash landing. Players use their robo-wrench to assist UM-13 in reclaiming lost cargo, collecting valuable artifacts, and repairing his damaged ship. The game also features a building mechanic, allowing players to build stuff and solve environmental puzzles while exploring the junkyard setting.
More Day-One Releases Coming This Month Junkster is not the only day-one release coming in June. Also arriving directly to the service is Shift at Midnight, a co-op detective horror game members can play on June 17. EA Sports UFC will also be playable on EA Play for Game Pass Ultimate members following its exit from early access on June 18, and the PC version of Age of Empires Mobile will launch on June 23. After more than two years in early access, Palworld will be releasing its full 1.0 version in July.
Good Lineup for Platformer Fans
Xbox Game Pass already has plenty of platforming games for players with a niche interest in the genre. Big names are Hollow Knight: Silksong, Super Meat Boy 3D, and Planet of Lana 2. If you're feeling a little darker and creepier, Little Nightmares 2 is also included with EA Play through Game Pass. Subscribers also recently got access to Replaced, a cyberpunk platforming adventure set in an alternate version of 1980s America, along with Frog Squwad. Looking further ahead, the service will add Denshattack on July 17, a fast-paced platformer that puts players in the driver's seat of a train racing through a dystopian vision of Japan.
Xbox Game Pass Is Having a Busy Month
With Junkster now in the mix, June is still one of the more active months for Xbox Game Pass in terms of new content. The combination of indie discoveries, returning favourites and upcoming major releases indicates Microsoft's continuing strategy of keeping the service's catalog fresh and varied, providing subscribers with a wide range of genres and experiences to dig into throughout the month and into July.
