Set #21065 (named Sagrada Família) has reportedly 12,060 pieces which would surpass the existing record held by the LEGO World Map (#31203) by 365 pieces. As part of the early summer LEGO release for 2026, the set will be released on July 1, 2026, at a retail price of $599.99 USD.Since the set is categorized under LEGO's Architecture theme, it is interesting to see that the Architecture theme is typically smaller and designated only as realistic representations of famous landmarks where there will be fewer collector items associated. However, the type of build being created for this new set would elevate the theme from being realistic representations only to more premium builds like large collector items while also maintaining its architectural integrity.
The original Sagrada Familia (a Catholic cathedral located in Barcelona, Spain) is one of the most iconic buildings in history and was designed by Antoni Gaudí (1852-1926) and has a completed architectural style combining Gothic style with elements of Catalan Modernism. Since its construction site in 1882, it has been under construction for over 140 years and is known for its large towers and very creative architecture.
The proposed LEGO set's timing coincides with the anticipated completion of the Sagrada Familia's main structure in 2026 – the tallest tower of Jesus has already been constructed at full height, with only a few items left to be completed inside. If so, the LEGO product will serve as a tribute to this historic project being very close to being completed.
In addition to the Sagrada Familia, another very large, rumored LEGO set (#11377 Minas Tirith) is expected to be on sale by June 1, 2026. As such, Minecraft: Set #11377 Minas Tirith initially will rank among the ten largest LEGO sets produced to date but will be downgraded to the seventh position when the third-largest set of all time, Sagrada Familia, is released.
With these significant releases planned for 2026, LEGO appears to be investing heavily in large, complex builds and aiming to provide its customers with some of the most challenging and aesthetically pleasing LEGO sets ever.
