Irish Gamers Can Get Paid $890 to Play GTA 6

Fans of the Grand Theft Auto series can get paid to play GTA 6, but the offer comes with some fine print. Even so, anyone who qualifies may want to take a shot, since getting paid to play one of the most anticipated games of all time isn't a chance that comes around every day.

The Offer and Its Catches

Virgin Media Ireland is giving one lucky gamer a free copy of Grand Theft Auto 6 plus a whopping $890 to play it. It sounds like a dream job, but there are several conditions. The winner must play eight hours of the game within one week of receiving it, then post an honest review on social media and tag Virgin Media Ireland. To apply, entrants must live in Ireland and have a TikTok and/or Instagram account. They also need to explain in 200 to 300 words why they deserve the spot. The contest closes on November 15, and the winner will hear back within one week. Whoever wins may also have to cancel an existing pre-order.

This isn't the first chance to get GTA 6 free, but being paid nearly a grand for eight hours of play is unlikely to be repeated. Gamers outside Ireland are out of luck, which will disappoint some, though most will probably be happy that the game is finally closing in on release after years of development and multiple delays.

Huge Anticipation Ahead of Launch

Rockstar Games hasn't released official figures, but new reports suggest the company has already sold over six million copies in pre-orders. Anticipation has reached a fever pitch, and many more copies will sell once pre-orders end.

More information should arrive soon. Since the GTA 6 Extended Look, the studio has shared one reveal every Thursday, with the next expected on October 29. It has also shared smaller reveals in between, such as confirming that missions will give players more freedom than earlier entries.

The game's release will be felt across the industry for a long time. Many games delayed their launches to avoid it, though not all did. Nintendo is releasing the Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake just one week before GTA 6, and since GTA 6 isn't on Switch 2, neither game is likely to suffer much.
