When Ubisoft announced this remake in September 2020, there was tremendous enthusiasm among the fans. People still remember the original game released in 2003 for its story, unique time-rewinding technology and the stylish style of the prince. But as time passed, the release of the game kept getting postponed and hopes also started weakening a bit.Hope revived after a long wait
The game was earlier supposed to come in 2021, but its development kept getting delayed due to various reasons. For a long time, there was no concrete information from Ubisoft, which made people think that the game might have been cancelled.
But now, in the middle of 2025, Ubisoft gave a short but heartfelt message on social media – "Yes, we are still working on the game – exploring, creating, and seeing that the sand flows in the right direction."
Developers' hard work and passion
Although the company has not shared any new trailer or screenshots yet, the fact that the team is dedicated and working hard means a lot to fans. Ubisoft also said, "This game is being crafted by a team that truly cares, and they're pouring their hearts (and a lot of coffee) into every step."
According to the company's latest financial report, the game is planned to launch by the end of the current financial year, i.e. by March 31, 2026. It has been almost five years since the remake was announced, so this new timeline is a relief for game lovers.
Ubisoft's changed style
This time Ubisoft kept quiet at gaming events. Neither did it hold events like Ubisoft Forward, nor did it show anything special in Summer Game Fest. This change compared to earlier shows that the company is now thinking of doing more by speaking less.
Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake is not just a game for Ubisoft, but can also be a symbol of their return to their old golden days. If it is made correctly, this game will not only refresh old memories but will also attract the new generation.
Hope is enough for now
Until we get to see the real gameplay, everything is just talk. But the most important thing that fans have got at this time is trust. And sometimes, this is all that is needed during the wait.
