Chi-Yu is one of the Treasures of Ruin from the Paldea region and is part of a Legendary quartet. Starting July 22, players have participated in Shiny Tera Raid events with other Treasures of Ruin, such as Ting-Lu. Trainers cannot catch these Shiny Legendaries once they defeat them. Instead, once a Shiny is defeated collectively one million times overall, it is given as a Mystery Gift via Internet distribution, with all rewards planned to end on September 30.

Battling Shiny Chi-Yu
The Shiny Chi-Yu raid is a tough one. It is a level 75 Pokémon that uses Ruination, Heat Wave, Flamethrower, Snarl, and Dark Pulse. It uses a raid shield very early and resets Tera Orb charges during the battle. Shiny Chi-Yu can have very strong special attack and defence stats, making it hard to turn the battle tide, but it is susceptible to Water-type Pokémon. Great options for the raid are Azumarill, Kyogre, and Walking Wake, all powerful against Chi-Yu's defences.

Mass Outbreaks with Higher Chance of Shiny Pokémon
In addition to the raid, Pokémon Scarlet and Violet players can join the Mass Outbreak event with Charcadet, Vulpix, and Numel in Paldea, Kitakami, and the Terarium, all with boosted Shiny encounter rates. Players can further boost their chances of encounters with a Shiny Sandwich to experience Shiny Pokémon sooner. The events will end at 8:00 PM Eastern on September 14.

With this final Treasure of Ruin event, players have one last chance to make their contribution to the collective goal towards unlocking Shiny Chi-Yu through Mystery Gift later in September!
