Kingdom Hearts 4 was first announced way back in 2022, and was limited to seeing protagonist Sora explore the new original world of Quadratum. Since then, updates about the game have been pretty sparse, but Square Enix has recently started sharing more details, including a new trailer that was shown during the D23 expo. Now that the Kingdom Hearts 4 release window has been confirmed for 2027, we're starting to get more information about the game, including this latest batch of leaks.
Steam Achievement Datamine Shows Several New Worlds
The leak comes from a massive datamine of Steam achievements for Kingdom Hearts 4, posted on tracking site SteamDB. Fans have checked out the achievements and the requirements to complete them, and have been able to get a rough idea of several worlds likely to appear in the upcoming game. While a Coco-based universe has already been officially confirmed for Kingdom Hearts 4, the leaked achievements imply even more fan-favorite franchises will be included, too. Alongside the previously revealed Quadratum and Scala Ad Caelum, the leaked worlds include Star Wars, which is being billed as "A Galaxy Far, Far Away," Toy Story's return to the "Toy Box," Hercules' "Underworld," a new "Haunted Mansion" world, an unannounced world called "Monochrome Origins," Zootopia's "Savanna Central," Coco's "Land of the Dead," and yet another mysterious world called "Imagineer Planet."
While we don't know if this is the full and final list of worlds in Kingdom Hearts 4, these are the ones that seem to be tied to in-game achievements for now. Considering the game is aiming for a 2027 release, it's not out of the question that there is a lot of backend data, including these achievements, already in Steam's systems.
Exciting New & Returning Worlds Found by Fans
Star Wars fans will undoubtedly be happy to see several new additions along with Kingdom Hearts. The leaks also show the return of worlds like Toy Story's Toy Box, which was in Kingdom Hearts 3, and Hercules' Underworld, which was in Kingdom Hearts 2, while Haunted Mansion and Zootopia both appear ready to debut as franchises in Kingdom Hearts 4.
The most interesting items on the list are probably "Monochrome Origins" and "Imagineer Planet". The first one could be a nod to old Disney black and white cartoons like Steamboat Willie. It could be like the Timeless River world from Kingdom Hearts 2. Even more mysterious is "Imagineer Planet," which could be a nod to Disney's real-world Imagineers, the engineers and designers behind the company's theme parks. Since Quadratum already has real world locations in Kingdom Hearts 4, it's possible Imagineer Planet is just another playful tip of the hat to Disney's actual theme park roots.
