Fortnitemares 2025: Event Calendar and Expectations
Fortnitemares is branded as Fortnite’s yearly event around horror, spooky cosmetics, and a limited-time map update.

A significant content update rolled out on October 2 created the Kpop Demon Hunters crossover, but Epic Games has confirmed that the next update will kick off Halloween with a major content update on October 9.

Historically, the Halloween event indicates game-play changes, cosmetics, and limited-time events that typically run until the end of that season. Fortnitemares is expected to run throughout Chapter 6 Season 4 and run until November 1.

Fans can expect limited-time experiences within the game, exclusive skins, and fun horror items made available to celebrate Halloween.

Scream, Scooby-Doo, and R.E.P.O. are making their way to Fortnite
Fortnite teased the upcoming collaborations in several online posts to confirm what had always been speculated by fans.

• Scooby-Doo: Scooby-Doo has long been rumored to join Fortnite, and finally the Scooby-Doo crossover looks confirmed. The video made it unclear the scope of the crossover, but they don't seem to shy away from bringing new skins into the Item Shop.
• Scream: The reveal for this crossover showed the iconic horror villain Ghostface holding a large knife with Peely's reflection in the blade of the weapon. The reveal video strongly presumes that Ghostface could be available as a skin during Fortnitemares.
• R.E.P.O.: Additionally, Fortnite teased one of their zombies that is bursting through a door and the 'R.E.P.O.' characters are fleeing in a panic. This suggests a multitude of skins will be made available from R.E.P.O. for the event.

Although the teases made fans excited about the collaborations, there was one particular franchise that was notably absent— Friday the 13th. There had been speculation and rumors that Jason would potentially crossover in Fortnite for the Halloween event.

Although Epic Games have not formally teased an appearance, a significant amount of players agree that they are hopeful that Jason comes before the last day of the Fortnitemares event.

Despite the confirmed collab with Scooby-Doo, Scream, R.E.P.O., and speculation of horror icons, this looks to be one of Fortnite's larger Halloween events to date.
