Dying Light: The Beast gets first hotfix update

Techland has released the initial patch for Dying Light: The Beast, addressing initial concerns players had when it released on September 18th. The Beast was originally designed to be DLC for Dying Light 2: Stay Human, but the project was fully built into a standalone title and became the newest entry in the popular survival horror franchise.

Hotfix 1.2.1 Info
The patch released on September 22nd is called hotfix 1.2.1, and it fixes issues related to Indoor Rain and the Disturbed Day/Night Cycle that may have occurred under rare conditions. Most players did not encounter these bugs, and now they are resolved. The patch also added the APEX car skin to players who pre-ordered the game, which players can access in their player stash.

Before the game's release, fans displayed immense enthusiasm for the title, with more than 1 million pre-orders. This led Techland to release the game a day ahead of its stated release window. As a token of gratitude, pre-order purchasers received pre-order rewards, including APEX and the "Hero of Harran" bundle, which included weapons, cosmetics, and outfits.

Positive Reception and More on the Horizon
Already, Dying Light: The Beast has become the highest-rated game in the franchise, with an OpenCritic critic average of 82. The game brings back Kyle Crane, improves the parkour system, and continues with the intense survival horror gameplay.

Techland has also stated their dedication to Dying Light 2: Stay Human support for a long time horizon till 2027. Fans expect the same, if not more, for The Beast. The studio has even mentioned concepts for a fourth title, making a promising roadmap for the franchise, which began in 2015.
