The community's idea to add to ConquestBattlefield 6 launched with content and included multiple game modes, one of which was Conquest, which put two teams of 32 players against each other in larger-scale maps to capture points of interest and kill the opponents' tickets. Since its launch, Battlefield 6 has launched additional content, including its free-to-play Battle Royale Mode "REDSEC". The reception is varied, and the player pool seems to universally find that the map could be a good way to add to the other modes of play on the game already launched.
One user of Reddit, the_shortbus_, suggested the idea to take sections or a portion of the REDSEC map to feature some variety introduced to Conquest. In this suggestion, it wasn't that the entire map from Fort Lyndon should be quoted in the play. Rather than smaller sections of the REDSEC map could adding to player count for Conquest modes based on the views of the new locations of combat, yet still get players outside the game mode to simply assess and enjoy the parts of the Battleground.
The suggestion also is included the bigger sections into the ability to create more room for expansive terrain, large enough for a couple of aircraft to fly on large maps.
The post on the community gained momentum fast and started gaining support from the community this morning. Commenters also provided extended thoughts, including one player providing a suggestion for splitting Fort Lyndon into three separate Conquest maps. Others proposed that the REDSEC map to be modified in a fashion like the larger multi-stage engagements present in Battlefield 1's Operations mode.
Concerns and Technical Issues
Even if the concept impressed several players, there was concern for the REDSEC map fitting into Conquest. Discussion highlighted that issues persist on some current Conquest maps, with many players feeling adjustments to those maps are still needed. The responses from the community were to the effect that even if Fort Lyndon was applied, it could be a technical issue, given that the REDSEC map may not be ready for Conquest.
Access to parts of the REDSEC map is already limited in Battlefield 6's Portal. Players often specifically note issues with servers (lag), as well as lobby sizes that are too small to accommodate all players. These points raise questions as to how these maps would perform in a full Conquest roster. These observations have led several in the community to suggest doubt about things that could contribute to moving the idea forward, without major further development.
Updates and Future Happenings
The future of Conquest with the REDSEC map remains uncertain, though Battlefield 6 continues to regularly see player counts through Steam. The upcoming content is in itself exciting, with the Winter Offensive update arriving on December 9, with the new map, Ice Lock Empire State. And all the old players hold out a small consolation, given all the waiting ahead for something new.
As the game continues onward, the community wants to remain an important factor in shaping expectations. Whether cooler sections of Fort Lyndon will even see Conquest is presently impossible to know. However, it is apparent that the community expects map variety, searching to try all the strange experiences they have conjured themselves out of, in time for real interaction in Battlefield 6's experiences. Time will tell, as weeks go by, how eager the developers will get in accounting for some type of paper to improve game play.
